Staying home - happy, healthy and independent with our assistance

Staying Home is a service, tailored to individual needs, that helps our older customers living in bungalows and flats in St Helens and Warrington remain independent, stay in control of their lives and enjoy a better quality of life.

Our Staying Home team are on hand offering a little extra help for people to live independently for as long as possible in their own home.

Most of us want to live independently for as long as possible. But as we get older, we may need a little extra help.

At Torus we are committed to helping people remain safe, healthy and happy at home for longer.

The Staying Home Team offer advice and assistance to help you remain at home safely. They can help arrange property adaptations if you need them, help you save money on fuel bills and check you're claiming any benefits you're entitled to.

How we can help

We can introduce you to a telephone befriending service, signpost you to new hobbies, local events and social activities. Or even help with completing forms and setting up direct debits.

We can also monitor wellbeing 365 days a year through a service called OKEachDay. Simply press a button on your telephone, before a pre-arranged time every day, to let the team know you’re OK. Weather updates, community safety concerns, important information and news about local events are all provided by the service too.

Your dedicated Staying Home Officer will also visit you in your home every six months, to carry out a review of your support needs.  Between these visits, if you have concerns, you can also contact the Staying Home Team directly via their dedicated duty line for our Staying Home customers.
