Torus opens a new pathway to homeownership in Warrington’s Cultural Quarter

06 May 2025

Torus marked the launch of Trinity House, a brand new six-storey development with 23 apartments in the heart of Warrington’s historical town centre, Palmyra Square.

Built on the grounds of the former Old Trinity Vicarage, a building that once stood derelict, Trinity House will comprise 17 one-bedroom apartments and six two-bedroom apartments available through the Rent to Buy Scheme. With Rent to Buy, residents pay a reduced rent (20% less than the full market value), which allows them to save up for a deposit and enter homeownership.

Trinity House is the second Rent to Buy development that Torus has brought to Palmyra Square, demonstrating its ongoing effort and dedication to providing much needed affordable housing in the heart of Warrington Town Centre. Through the Rent to Buy Scheme, Trinity House will support aspiring homeowners in saving while they rent.

Chris Bowen, Managing Director of Torus Developments, said:

“It is a privilege to be developing more homes in the heart of Warrington’s Cultural Quarter.

"The development and acquisition of Trinity House derived from our ambition to bring future-proof affordable homes to the area alongside Palmyra House, our existing Rent to Buy apartment block. What was once a derelict building for many years has now been transformed into high-quality homes in a vibrant town centre.

"Trinity House will be a great opportunity for aspiring homeowners to benefit from all the perks of living in the heart of the Town Centre whilst also saving to buy at the same time.”

Joining Torus to celebrate the launch, Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member for housing, Cllr John Kerr-Brown, said:

“It's great to see Trinity House opening its doors in the heart of our cultural quarter. It’s exactly the kind of development we're aiming for in Warrington – high quality, affordable homes, in excellent locations.

“This fantastic development is the latest success for Torus in Warrington town centre, supporting our work to help as many people as possible get onto the property ladder, and deliver the right types of homes, which meet local demand, across our communities.”
