Coordinated response to ASB brings peace to Torus communities
07 November 2025
This month, Torus has taken a clear stand against anti-social behaviour in Newton-le-Willows and Warrington. Working closely with the local police force, a possession order and an injunction have been secured for two separate tenants.
Dean Wall, Director of Housing Services said:
“This action sends a clear message that we will not tolerate criminal activity in our communities. We are committed to protecting residents and ensuring that our estates remain safe, welcoming places to live.”
Newton-le-Willows
A multi-agency approach has successfully resolved a long-standing case of anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity at an address in Newton-le-Willows.
In November, representatives from the Torus Housing team, accompanied by bailiffs and Merseyside Police, completed a possession order at a property that had become a centre of continuous criminal activity. The possession order follows multiple complaints and an investigation into the property being used for illegal drug dealing.
The police and our team worked hard together to build a strong legal case. Today’s action is an important step toward bringing peace back to the community which has lived with months of disruption, fear, and instability.
Warrington
A court-ordered injunction has been given to a tenant after they assaulted and threatened a neighbour. The injunction, which also includes a power of arrest, will remain in place for 12 months.
This positive result demonstrates the effectiveness of quick and decisive response. Securing this full, long-term injunction has not only provided continued protection for the people affected but has also offered significant reassurance to the entire Woolston community that we take their safety and wellbeing seriously.
Report anti-social behaviour in your community
Legal action is always a last resort. It is not a decision we take lightly. But where necessary, we will take action against those causing anti-social behaviour (ASB) in our communities.
