Torus Group launches Christmas campaign to help older vulnerable customers

19 October 2023

In the spirit of goodwill and community, Torus Group is proud to launch its annual Christmas campaign aimed at bringing warmth and generosity to vulnerable older customers who may find themselves isolated during the holiday season.

Last year, teams across the business came together to identify older customers, many without a support network around them. Over four hundred individuals were provided with heartfelt gifts, bringing smiles and comfort during a time that can be particularly lonely for many.

The success of the campaign was accredited to the dedication and support of Group colleagues, local suppliers, and valued partners who connected with Torus, Torus Developments, Torus Foundation and HMS throughout the year. Their collective efforts resulted in £6,200, which assisted in the purchasing of gifts for those in need and offering broader support throughout the winter period.

After the success of last year's campaign, Torus Group is on a mission to sprinkle even more kindness during this festive season. The organisation is reaching out to local businesses with open arms, inviting them to support and contribute to the campaign. Their support and contributions can make a significant difference.

Cath Murray-Howard, Chief Operating Officer for Torus Group comments,

“We are thrilled to be continuing support for our vulnerable older customers through our Christmas campaign. which reflects Torus Group’s commitment to building stronger, more connected communities. I am looking forward to once again helping to pack and deliver gifts, knowing that this support has the power to brighten the lives of those who may otherwise be spending the holidays in isolation.”

Ste Preston, Sheltered and Staying Home Operations Manager at Torus, adds,

“My role involves supporting vulnerable older customers all year round and I’ve seen how tough Christmas can be for those feeling isolated. Not having family or friends around can affect someone’s confidence, health, and wellbeing. It’s moving to see their faces when we arrive with a gift and I’m proud that we get the opportunity to work as a wider team to make a small difference to let our communities know we’re here and we care.“

If your business would like to join us in spreading the warmth and joy this holiday season more information about the campaign and how you can contribute can be found on our Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/campaign/toruschristmascampaign2023 or by emailing partnerships@torusfoundation.org.uk

In addition to helping vulnerable older people, Torus’ charitable arm, Torus Foundation will once again be donating money separately that will benefit children and young people across Liverpool, St Helens, and Warrington this Christmas.
